What's Included:

I will introduce you to the art of simple layering with foam seats, what kind of webbing you need, and the "how to" of 8 way hand tying, which is actually a beautiful skill.

  • Close up instructional video and hand outs of how to 8 way hand tie springs
  • Layering  your seat with padding after you tie springs.
  • Making a deck to hold a cushion
  • Layering a chair bottom without springs for the perfect cushion.
  • Making a pulled seat.  Hints and tips along the way. Fabric chart available.

What You will Need:

  • Chair with or without  springs
  • For Spring chairs: Springs (or reuse), Spring twine, Nails. Webbing, Nylon Button twine, Jute webbing (red stripe)and stretcher
  • For all chairs: Cotton batting, Dacron Batting, Foam 1-2” depending muslin, Burlap Stapler
  • Fabric and cambric
